マルチモードポリマー導波路の評価方法(光機能性有機材料・デバイス,光非線形現象,一般)  [in Japanese] Evaluation Methods for Multi-mode Polymeric Optical Waveguides  [in Japanese]

Abstract

本研究の目的は,メーカーとユーザーにとって指針となる標準的な評価方法を提案し,マルチモードポリマー導波路の開発や導入の促進に資することにある。マルチモード導波路では,コアクラッド界面の荒れにより高次モードがより強く散乱される為に,入射光のFFPを規定しなければならない。コア径50μmのGIファイバを用いた実験では,SGSモードスクランブラを選んだ場合に安定した入射モードが実現可能であった。

The purpose of this research is to propose the standard evaluation method for multi-mode polymeric optical waveguide, which will accelerate both of R&D and penetration into the market. In this type of waveguides, it is crucial to define the input light pattern because the roughness of core-cladding interface scatters higher order mode. By using LEDs, 50GI fibers and SGS mode scramblers can meet this demand.
