Abstract

We propose and create a novel structure formed with thinned fiber Bragg gratings and carbon nanotubes utilizing its optical absorption characteristics. We show that the reflection band of the fiber Bragg gratings can be shifted by controlling the in-line optical power. We use the structure to realize two applications of all-fiber tunable filter and high optical power blocker.
