抄録

The late Miocene or Pliocene Zushi and the Pliocene Ikego and Urago Formations are distributed in the Takatori-yama and its vicinity of the northern part of the Miura Peninsula. The type localities of the Ikego and Urago Formations are situated in this area. The stratigraphical relation between the both has been debated but the conclusion has not been settled. The present study has objective to describe lithology, stratigraphy and geological structure of the formations. The author emphasizes that the stratigraphical relation between the Ikego and Urago is parallel unconformity with partial abut type unconformity. The relative maximum thickness of the eroded rocks of the Pliocene Ikego formation is estimated about 100m. This unconformity will be correlated with the Kurotaki unconformity typically developed in the Boso Peninsula.
