This paper describes the result concerning the design method and the actual performance of a combustor for the micro gas turbine investigated as a part of the biomass resources utilization project. To obtain stable flame of biomass gases, we adopted lean-lean, two-stage premix combustion in which injecting premixed gas into the burned gas of tubular flame. The injection worked well at 0.4 secondary equivalence ratio and the first model successfully achieved 99% combustion efficiency and 17.6ppm NOx emissions (at 15% O_2). However, we found that the tubular flame can be easily blown off by the injection because the injection disturbs the recirculation zone of the bumed gas of the tubular flame. To broaden the range with high efficiency and low NOx emissions, the injection flow should be optimized so that the tubular flame may be held in leaner side, and so that the mixing of the injected premix gas with the burned gas of the tubular flame may be more effective.
