Abstract

Generally, ankle joint moment and floor reaction force of human body is measured by using 3D cameras and force plates. However price of such system is very high and scale is very large. In this paper, a new estimation method for measuring reaction force and moment by using planter pressure sensors is proposed. This system is very compact and easy to measure. In the previous study, a force plate has to be used for calibration. In this study a new simple calibration method is presented using very cheap load cell in stead of the force plate. Experimental study is carried out and it can be seen that experimental results of the new proposed method compare well with the results of previous study.
