Abstract
It is desired that the thermal effluent from a thermal or a nuclear power station is diluted rapidly. Then, in order to apply the Swirling Jet with superior diffusing power to discharge of the thermal effluent, the basic properties of Swirl Type Discharge Head were studied by the experiment and numerical analysis. As a result, it was confirmed that the loss coefficient was dependent on eccentric radius and Froude number, and swirl number was not affected by Reynolds number, if its shape was a similar figure.
