Abstract
This paper reports the measurement accuracy of digital holographic particle image velocimetry (DHPIV) with a spatio-temporal derivative method for 3D flow measurement. The spatio-temporal derivative method is employed to detect the depth displacement vectors of reconstructed light intensity distribution directly from a pair of observed hologram patterns. In experiment, we observe the flow in a cavity with a single camera and we compare the measurement accuracy of the present method with that of the stereoscopic method using two cameras set at right angle to each other. It is found that the depth displacement distribution by the present method agrees with that by the stereoscopic method better than that of the previous technique.
