Proper operation of the ventilation system of a tunnel requires a regular adjustment of its parameters. This work, however, needs a high level knowledge about the ventilation control. In addition to that, this work may be risky because no one can tell the adjustment to be right until it is verified by the actual operation of it in the tunnel. In order to adjust parameters efficiently and effectively, avoiding the above risk, Japan Highway Public Corporation has developed a new system that has a function of the simulation for the new ventilator operation in it. The system is now working successfully. This paper introduces its outlines and results.
