Abstract
The authors have developed a numerical simulation scheme for a selective exhaustion system. The behavior of the airflow is expressed in terms of one-dimensional motion equation for complex ventilation systems, which is solved by a difference scheme. The simulator is applied to the Hida Tunnel, which is under construction as a part of Tokai Hokuriku Expressway. The calculation results show that smooth transition of damper selection could be realized, and it is shown that the current simulator is an effective tool to design a ventilation system.
