Abstract
A car-borne wind-power generation system was experimentally studied. The system utilizes a roof-top fairing mounted on a container truck cabin roof; the air intake is located at the front of the fairing and the exit is at the top of the fairing where the suction pressure is highest. A cross-flow turbine is installed within the internal ducting connecting the intake and the exit. Performances of cross-flow turbine s for the purpose were experimentally studies with respect to the optimum bladings, and their power and efficiency. The results were compared with data of the power generation system to know the applicability for the container truck. It has given a promising result.
