Abstract
This study describes the analysis of the aerodynamics of low pressure turbine cascade with reduced solidity for achieving high blade loading. The point of this study is to maintain or increase the efficiency even for reduced blade number using wake from upstream cascade to suppress boundary layer separation on the sucssion surface. To compare the experiment investigations measured on a turbine cascade, we conduct detailed LES analysis on wake-boundary layer interaction by introduction of a bar upstream cascade. Since according to recent researches, boundary layer transition is believed to be initialed by a Kelvin-Helmholtz instability, we also try to examine a boundary layer transition mechanism.
