抄録

The purpose of this study is to clarify to what extent the staff members of kindergartens and nursery schools consider a counter-plan against a forthcoming earthquake in Kochi City. This research was conducted with 10 kindergartens and 35 nursery schools in Kochi City by means of a questionnaire. The results of this study are as follows: First, the stuff members feel that the big earthquake will happen in the near future. However, they also feel that the equipments against earthquake in kindergartens and nursery schools are not enough because of the money problem. Second, the information that the earthquake will come soon in Kochi City spreads among many people. Third, it is necessary to make a concrete plan of how the stuff members lead the children to an evacuation area.
