抄録

The number of traffic accidents increases year by year, while the number of traffic deaths decreases. Meihan highway is known as one of the worst accident frequent occurrence area in Japan. The representative accident factors in Meihan highway are a chronic overspeed and a complexity of the road shape. There is a section called as "Omega curve", because the road shape is similar to a Greek character Ω. In this study, the Omega curve environment is reproduced on the realtime driving simulator to analyze unsafe driving behavior occurred in the area. Driving simulator experiments were performed to suggest the process of unsafe driving behavior that causes the traffic accident.
