The purposes of this paper are examination of the reliability and the validity of the projective measuring method on the psychological distance with the friend of university students and presentation of basic data. In Study 1・2, the relation between psychological distance and depth scale of the relation and degree of the relation close was examined. In Study 3, the content of “it brings it close” and “it is kept away” were collected by the free description. The results were as follows; ① The psychological distance changes in sex and sex of the friend. ② The psychological distance was related to depth of the relation, relation close and familiarity. Therefore, the validity of the method was verified. ③ There are “closeness”, etc, at the content of “it brings it close”, and there are “disclosure and understanding”. etc, at the content of “it is kept away”. In 《friend → self》, it was proven that the distance of “it brings it close” was smaller than that of “it is kept away”. Therefore, it seemed to ensure the reliability of the projective measuring method.
