Abstract
By using an experimental apparatus to examine the performance in the heat and mass transfer between water and air through the porous plate having extremely small pores, the effect of thermal conductivity of materials on moisture transport were investigated. It was shown that the effect of the thermal conductivity of plate on moisture transport is noticeable. For example, in case of porous plate of thickness of 1 mm, the controlling factor of moisture transport is thermal resistance inside plate for the plate with low thermal conductivity and is convection heat transfer between plate surface and air for the plate with high thermal conductivity. Further, for the moisture recovery device using the porous plate with high thermal conductivity, to decrease the channel height is effective for increasing moisture transport.
