抄録

In recent years most Italian regional plan appear to be characterized by a specific interest in the historical and environmental resources of the rural areas as a base for their strategic decisions and land-use regulations. Orcia valley has a regional plan incorporating five municipalities that integrate history and the environment through the policy of sustainable long-term development, taking into account the valley's permanent character as a productive rural area. To build up landscape the regulation is organized as a single, comprehensive document that combined development and protection integrating history, ecology, agriculture and planning.
