抄録

The music department professors in the Faculty of Education, Shinshu University sometimes teach chorus classes at its affiliated junior high schools. It might be unusual for professors to teach at its affiliated junior high schools, but when they taught junior high school students about how to develop their vocal music skills, they taught by translating professional terms into easily understandable expressions. It seems that this practice had considerable effects on the vocal training of the junior high school students. Also, and more important, it seems that this practice created meaningful effects on the affiliated junior school teachers, the undergraduate students, and the professors themselves, because through this practice, the affiliated junior high school teachers could get the professional skills and find its teaching way, professors could realize how their expertise was put into practice at the junior high school level, and the undergraduate students could understand that whole process. This paper reports the details of how this practice was performed at the affiliated junior high schools and also shows a possible way to contribute to the improvement of music education in the undergraduate school.
