抄録

This paper proposes the technique to detects a ship using the navigational image sequences. The observed image including a ship is specially differentiated, and feature points are extracted. These points are grouped so that a ship yields a group. A group found in a frame is matched with ones in another frame so that the position corresponding to the motion is found. The estimated motion reflects the roll and pitch of the ship in addition with the ship movement when the group corresponds to the ship. On the other hand, the estimated motion of the ship reflects inconsistency of the wave. Therefore, we can get rid of waves and left the ship part when we check the consistency of motions. So we can detect a ship reliably. The experimental results have been so far satisfactory.
