大名茶の系譜 : 武辺の茶の統治機能  [in Japanese] The Genealogy of the Tea Ceremony by Japanese Feudal Lord : The Functional Rule through the Tea Ceremony of Samurai(Liberal Arts)  [in Japanese]

Abstract

The Tea brought over from China was spread to Zen Monks, Court Nobles and Samurai. Then the Daimyos ; Ashikaga, Oda, and Toyotomi established as the Art of Tea Ceremony. However, the Tea Ceremonies of Court Nobles, Merchants and Daimyos differed in ideals and practices. Furthermore, there were also little difference between the Tae Ceremonies of Nobunaga Oda, Hideyoshi Toyotomi, Oribe, Ensyu, and that of Sekisyu. The Tea Ceremony of Oribe Furuta was quite humorous ; it was called "Heukemono." The Tea of Ensyu Kobori' called "Kirei Sabi" was fascinating and elegant in its simplicity. The Tea of Sekisyu Katagiri mainly studied by Samurai was shaped by social status ; what we call "Bunsouou". I researched Daimyos' style of Tea Ceremony by comparing Oribe's "Heukemono", Kobori Ensyu's "Kirei Sabi" and Katagiri Sekisyu's "Bunsouou" Tea.
