Abstract
日本は歴史や文化の基盤が欧米と大きく異なる。そのため英語で日本を理解してもらうには、文化的背景を加えたわかりやすい説明が必要となるが、このとき特徴的なキーワードが見出される。本稿ではこれらのキーワードを指摘し、例文を提示して文化的背景を織り交ぜながら解説し、それらについて検証する。
Japan's history and cultural background are quite different from those of the West. Therefore, cultural orientation is necessary for the understanding of Japan in English. In this paper, I comment on the cultural background by discussing key words that characterize Japanese culture and sentences in which these key words are used.
