摂食障害患者と家族への多層的サポートシステムの試み  [in Japanese] An Attempt of a "Multi-Layered System" for Patients with Eating Disorders and Their Families  [in Japanese]

Abstract

Recently, Eating Disorders are on the rise in Japan, and the importance of developing a system that supports patients with EDs and their families for a long time is recognized. However, in reality, those with EDs and their family members are greatly distressed due to a lack of information of social resources about the treatment and support system. In this paper, we introduced our unique attempt called the "multi-layered system" and examined its significance. This system can be broken down into four levels of support, consisting of individual treatment, small group (group meeting), middle group (self-help group), and large group (group network). The characteristics of these groups are complementary to each other and the effect is even greater in this multi-layered structure. It is important to consider Eating Disorders with broader perspectives, connecting people with society through groups in addition to individual treatment, and the necessity of a social resource being available.
