Abstract
Active control of axisymmetric jets has been carried out by using the dielectric barrier discharge plasma actuator (DBDPA). Two electrodes, which are made of circular Copper foils with 0.1mm thickness are arranged in slantwise, are electrically insulated by a Teflon tube with 0.5mm thickness. By applying the rectangular voltage signal at E_p=±3.5kV and f_p =10kHz, the surface plasma is formed in the vicinity of the wall of the Teflon tube, and then tangential jets are induced by the plasma. In this paper, we show the performance of DBDPA for controlling axisymmetric jets by means of the flow visualization and PIV measurement.
