Abstract
Gas-liquid two-phase flow in horizontal mini-channel is seen in the cooling part of refrigerator and cool bags and so on. In these cooling systems, Freon gas had been used as a refrigerant until some years ago. In these years, however, Freon gas is going out of use by accounting for environment problems, and alternative gases are coming into use. If we want to change an old refrigerant into a new one, we must change the design of the cooling system, because the new one has different physical properties from the old ones. So seems it necessary to study the characteristics of two-phase flow in mini-channels, taking into account the physical properties. In this paper, the results of an experimental study on the effects of surface tension on the flow characteristics have been reported.
