Abstract

In this study, we developed a code which can calculate three-dimensional micro multi-phase flow using Moving Particle Semi-implicit method. In micro flow, strong surface tension dominates the fluid motion. It also makes a time step of a simulation small. To overcome this point, we employed a sub-time step algorithm which enables us an efficient calculation in keeping numerical stability. Micro droplet generation in a y-shaped micro channel is calculated with the developed code. We obtained micro droplet generation behavior in our calculation as the same as the experiment. The calculated droplet size quantitatively agrees with the experimental one.
