Abstract
A new simple method for calculating distortion of the compression wave is proposed. In this method we use only one equation which is derived from the three conservation equations (mass, momentum, and energy) using progressive wave approximation. The present method reduces the computing time greatly. The calculation results of the present method agree well with those of a more conventional method based on 1D CFD.
