It is important to predict the traffic ventilation force accurately for the design of tunnel ventilation. Traffic force is calculated from equivalent resistance area of vehicles, which is the product of resistance coefficient and front projection area on vehicles, so that it is necessary to understand resistance coefficient of vehicles accurately. The purpose of this study is proposition on relationship between resistance coefficient of vehicles and blockage ratio in road tunnels using model test, and on calculating formula for new equivalent resistance area of vehicles.
