Abstract
We interested in wake-flow characteristics of the wing, which can be changed from a streamlined- to a bluff-body by changing its angle of attack, at low Reynolds number (10^2<Re<10^4). Measurements were made of mean and fluctuating velocity distribution using hot-wire anemometer system with conditional-sampling technique in the wake flow field when its angle of attack was 10 degrees and chord-Reynolds number 1000. As a result, it was found that the mean velocity distributions are distorted greatly by the interference of the shear layers shedding from the upper side and the lower side of the wing surface at some characteristic phases within a cycle.
