Abstract
A new transport system "Aerotrain" that has less environmental load as compared to the conventional vehicles has been proposed because the global environment issue has become serious. "Aerotrain" is like a train with wings, and flies close to the ground of an open channel to take advantage of the ground effect. The air pressure increases between the wing and the ground on account of the ground effect, but the fluids escape toward the wing edges, because the wing width is finite. Therefore the ram pressure is not used effectively. There is "WIG" in one of the vehicle using the ground effect. It has flat plates below the wing edges in order to prevent the fluids escaping toward the wing span directions. This transportation system is able to be equipped the ground surface pattern because it runs on the solid surface guide way. In this paper, we make an equipment which consists of a stationary ground and a rotating disk with the wing which moves relatively to the ground. And the effect of the ground surface patterns on the lift coefficient is clarified by experiment.
