- OS9-3 Development of design method of combustor for low-calorific gas fuel based on flameless combustion analysis

This paper describes the development of design methodology of combustor for low-calorific fuel. In order to achieve 99% or higher combustion efficiency and 10ppm or lower (at 15% O_2) NO_x emissions with biomass gas, Flameless Combustion was applied to the Micro Gas Turbine combustor. Flameless Combustion is happened when premix gases is injected into the burned gas generated in the first-stage combustion zone, after auot-ignition of premixed gases break out. So combustion reaction advances even in ultra lean condition in which combustion reaction cannot in general. This paper addresses the comparison between the experiment and CHEMKIN analysis conducted for the developed combustor. The characteristic of ignition in Flameless Combustion is affected barely by the kind of fuels. Increase in the number of stages on flameless combustions can expand well-worked range of equivalence ratios.
