Abstract
AlGaAs系2次元フォトニック結晶スラブ上に作製した共振器-導波路結合系が示す定常的光双安定についての実験結果を示す。一次元エタロンモデルを用いて、異なる機構による各種非線形性の寄与を調べ、2光子吸収に基づく非線形性が支配的であることを示す。2光子吸収が弱いにも関わらず、大きな寄与が生じる背景には、熱の蓄積効果がある。また、この結果をSi共振器の場合と比較する。
Optical bistable responses were investigated under a stationary condition on AlGaAs-based 2D-photonic crystal cavities with Al-fractions of 0.16 and 0.27. Nonlinearities caused by two-photon absorption make dominant contributions to the index change, though two-photon absorption is sufficiently weak. Thermal resistance of a sample chip has a significant influence on the competition among the nonlinearities involved.
