This paper describes an acoustic diagnosis for a failure aerodynamic sound in a micro DC fan motor assembly line. The failure sound is caused by assembly accuracy of which an eccentricity of fan casing, a yawing of fan blade, etc. Proposed acoustic diagnosis technique is used to Adaptive Line Enhancer (ALE) to extract a periodic abnormal signal including aerodynamic noise generated by rotating a micro DC fan motor. Then, this research performed improvement in a S/N ratio in sound diagnosis of a micro DC fan using adaptive line enhancer. Consequently, the noise signal is not correlative in time decreased by about 10dB, the typical periodic signal with high correlation was acquired as an output signal, and it was cleared that this periodic signal could be used for unusual diagnosis.
