In order to improve the quality of MIM products, micro-injection molding process were focused. Two types of injection machines with different capacity were used for producing the micro dumbbell specimen. Sintered density and strength of micro dumbbell specimens were determined. It is clarified that the specimens produced by smaller injection machines were smaller variation in sintered density and strength. Moreover, gas surface treatment is considered to be especially effective for Titanium because of its high reactivity. In this study, we investigated the gas nitriding mechanism in titanium sintered parts produced by MIM process. The effects of specimen size on the nitriding process was investigated, because the size of micro metal injection molding (μ-MIM) product is so small and the specific surface of that product is so large that high performance mechanical and functional properties can be easily obtained by the nitriding treatment.
