小学生と中学生の摂食態度 : 群馬県と大阪府の比較  [in Japanese] Eating Attitudes in Elementary School and Junior High School Students : Comparison between Gunma and Osaka  [in Japanese]

Abstract

This study examined eating attitudes in early adolescents and pre-adolescents, using EAT-26. To search differences between areas, sexes and grades, the examination is done for boys and girls in upper grades of elementary schools and middle schools in local and urban areas, Gunma and Osaka prefectures. Participants are 2354 boys and girls, 1524 in 5^<th> 6^<th> grades in elementary and middle schools in Gunma and 830 in 4^<th>, 5^<th> 6^<th> grades of elementary schools and middle schools in Osaka. A total of 2242 subjects, excluding unavailable responses and students in 4^<th> grade, are analyzed. As the result of analysis of variance (ANOVA), the average of EAT score in Gunma (3.48) is significantly lower than in Osaka (5.04), boys' average of EAT score (3.42) is significantly lower than that of girls (4.68). Differences between grades (5^<th>:3.47, 6^<th>:2.47, 7^<th>:4.40, 8^<th>:4.62, 9th:4.42) are also significant. Significant also differences are found in interaction between grades and areas, and sexes and grades. Percentage of those who indicate more than 20 points of EAT score also increased in Osaka compared to Gunma. It is concluded that, in urban areas, problematic eating attitudes are more widespread among both pre-adolescent boys and girls and sexual difference tends to be on the decrease. In elementary schools, eating attitudes of boys and girls may be much influenced by other factors.
