In order to estimate the performance of a bioreactor, it is important to consider a relation between mass transfer and the flow structure. In this paper, we focus on a characteristic of mass transfer in a rectangular bubble column. At first, we measured simultaneously bubble parameter (bubble diameter, velocity and void fraction) and concentration of dissolved carbon dioxide by using an F-TOP (Four-Tip Optical-fiber Probe) and a specific conductivity meter. We evaluate mass transfer capacity coefficients (K_LA). Then mass transfer rates (K_L) were calculated by total specific surface area via an F-TOP and mass transfer capacity coefficients.
