Abstract
In order to investigate the driver's reactions to early warning of seismic motion, the present authors have performed a series of virtual tests using two driving simulators. The reactions of drivers with/without warning are compared to reveal the effects of early warning. When the early warning was given only one driver, traffic accidents sometimes occurred because of the disagreement of responses between two drivers. So the instructions of the ways to deal with early warning on the expressways arc desired. For example, turning on the hazard lights and reducing driving speed may be effective in that sense.
