Abstract

垂直磁気記録媒体用Co-Pt-TiO_2薄膜に熱処理を施し,磁気特性,結晶特性そして記録特性がどのように変化するかを調べた.熱処理温度や熱処理時間により,結晶性および結晶配向性の向上,磁化ループの傾きの急峻化とΔH_c/H_cの低下,記録再生特性の改善など各種の特性改善が見られ,それらが膜構造の均質化に因ることを明らかにした.また,処理温度や処理時間には最適値が存在することが明らかになった.

Annealing effects on magnetic, crystallographic and recording performance for Co-Pt-TiO_2 perpendicular recording media are investigated. Proper annealing temperature and duration improve medium characteristics such as crystal orientation, steep magnetization loop with ΔH_c/H_c reduction and SNR enhancement of the media and so on. It is revealed that these improvements come from medium uniformity in microstructure by annealing.
