抄録

This research aims to investigate the teaching practices of home economics classes relating to "Living issues" in Kagoshima Prefecture and to analyze the current state and the issues of home economics education. The number of practices relating to "Living issues" from 1994 to 2004 was 53 and most of them were from high school. Fifty five percent was related to Food and Nutrition area, 51% to welfare, 40% to family resource management, 38% to apparel and textile, 34% to families, 30% to child development, 25% to environment, 25% to housing, and 2% to others. All cases corresponded to level 1 (53), but 57% corresponded to level 2, 8% level 3, 19% level 4, and 6% level 5. It is necessary to develop the new restoring methods and research methods of teaching practices, to learn from the various cases, and to learn from the broad areas relating to home economics education.
