抄録

I report that a school girl dwarf and her mother could learn how to inject growth hormone at their home through my programmed course for the guidance. She had been an intrauterine growth retarded neonate and number of children therapeutyzed with growth hormone has been increasing and its beginning age is getting younger. Therefore, we have to guide short-statured children and their families who will receive growth hormone therapy appropriately. In the case reported here. three days are spent on the programmed course for the guidance of growth hormone self-injection at home. In the course we instructed her mother step by step as follows ; explanation about it through the guidance book, learning from its videotape, understanding a list for checking poionts at the injection, e.g. how to mark on an injection site, and self-learning at home. From the process I think that it is very important to support and care school-aged children especially in the mental aspect for the success. Through my progmammed course for a month it is confirmed that they become skilled enough in growth hormone self-injection at their home.
