Abstract

The scope of this report is an attempt to measure the offshore environment of a wind turbine using a Sodar (Sound Detection And Ranging) wind measuring device. The treated measurement, was performed at wind turbines on the seashore site of Setana town, Hokkaido. To evaluate such a Sodar application and an ordinary measurement method using a cup anemometer on the nacelle of wind turbine was recorded 10 minute-averages in order to compare both approaches blew. Exprimental results can be explained well by profiles of the wind.
