大学統合により,分散したキャンパス間において大学情報ネットワークを運用する事例が少なくない.香川大学においても,分散キャンパスは大きな特徴になっている.ネットワーク環境を構築する上において,管理方式の集中化・分散化を議論するためには,事例調査などが必要となる.平成19年後半,大学統合後の香川大学においても4キャンパス間と9附属施設を統合する大学情報ネットワークを構築し,管理運用を開始している.本稿では,教育研究系,管理運用系,および音声系の通信網を統合したキャンパス情報ネットワーク(統合情報伝達システムと呼ぶ)の構築事例について,ネットワーク構築の仕様と設計方針を紹介し,その管理運用方式についても具体的に報告する.

Some universities had decided to join together each other into two or more campuses in the same district. So new unified universities have important problems to manage their distributed campuses efficiently. It is very useful for such universities to design and implement an effective environment for Distributed Campus Information Network. Kagawa University has employed characteristic network including Gigabit-based network backbones, two-level hierarchy of firewalls, distributed network monitoring system and Inter-campus wide-area communication. This report will provide some examples to discuss and/or manage an environment of distributed network. And it describes design requirement, efficient implementation and strategic management of Kagawa University Integrated Information System as an example of Distributed Campus Network.
