Abstract
This paper focuses on the evaluation of ethanol production from rice straw. The purpose of this study is a comparison of the process energy and the production cost with different pretreatment technologies. Three processes, (1) just rough grinding (2) rough grinding and fine grinding (3) rough grinding ande hydrothermal treatment, were selected on this study. The existing technology case was estimated. All case was needed the energy and cost reduction. The improved scenario was then discussed.
