ミリ波帯で有効な低損失NRDガイドを用いて,60GHz帯における高速動作が可能なBPSK変復調器を試作した.今回のBPSK変調器は,既開発のNRDガイドASK変調器とハイブリッド結合器の有する90度移相特性を組み合わせて実現したものである.また,同ハイブリッド結合器を応用した直交検波器と,周波数の電圧制御が可能なNRDガイドガン発振器を用いて,コスタスループによるBPSK復調器も試作した.変復調器は1.5Gbpsの高速動作が可能であり,非圧縮HDTVの無線伝送等への応用が期待できる.
A high-speed BPSK modulator and demodulator have been constructed by using NRD-guide technology at 60GHz. The NRD-guide BPSK modulator consists of a couple of ASK modulators which have been developed previously based on the NRD-guide technology as well and each ASK modulator demonstrates gigabit-class performance. A BPSK demodulator has been also constructed by combining an NRD-guide quadrature detector and voltage controlled NRD-guide Gunn oscillator interconnected by the Costas loop circuit. The developed NRD-guide BPSK modulator and demodulator can treat 1.5Gbps digital signals, so that it can be applied to high-speed data transmission applications such as uncompressed HDTV wireless transmission.
