Abstract
Open water tests of a conventional and two highly-skewed model propellers were carried out with wide variation of revolutions. Also, deflections of propeller blades were measured by static load tests. Following conclusions were deduced from the tests mentioned above. (1) In case of a conventional prapeller, deflection of the blades was negligibly small even in the highest revolution. (2) In case of highly-skewed propellers, considerable deflection was caused owing to high revolutions, and the results of static load test proved this fact. (3) Effect of blade deflection on the propeller characteristics is remarkably large.
