Abstract
Higher accuracy of measurements has been required on the cavitation tests with the development of the cavitation research. Stabilization of cavitation patterns in the propeller cavitation tests is an important problem not only for the determination of cavitation extent but also for the improvement of accuracy in the measurements of surface forces etc. This report deals with the effects of air content and leading edge roughness on the propeller blades upon the cavitation performances, and shows the results of measurements of cavitation phenomena, fluctuating hull pressures and noise on a propeller with and without roughness at various cavitation contents in the cavitation tunnel.
