Abstract
In the present sluggish market, the development of hull form with high economical efficiency is ardently requested by all shipping interests in our country. In this paper, an example of model tests concerning the development of hull form for a D.W. 30,000 tons bulk carrier is reported. By means of the modification decreasing block coefficient and increasing breadth keeping length and draft constant and the adoption of a large-diameter low-revolution propeller, energy-saving not less than 10 percent was achieved.
