ディフルベンズロン(デミリン)の異なった施用方法によるノコギリヒラタムシ(Oryzaephilus surinamensis L.)及びコクヌストモドキ(Tribolium castaneum H.)の防除試験  [in Japanese] Control of Oryzaephilus surinamensis L. and Tribolium castaneum H. by different treatments of diflubenzuron (Dimilin)  [in Japanese]

Abstract

To control stored-product insects breeding in powdery food remaining in a food company, we tested the effect of different treatment of IGR (diflubezuron=Dimilin) for flour on death rate of the red flour beetle, Tribolium castanenm, and the saw-toothed grain beetle, Oryzaephilus surinamensis. When diflubenzuron was contained in flour, it gave excellent control (100%) at 2ppm in O. surinamensis and 4ppm in T. castaneum. Diflubenzuron made the most effective increase in death rate of both beetles during the larval age from 10 to 20 days. When solution of diflubenzuron (80ppm) was sprayed on the surface of the flour (100ml/m^2), it resulted in slight increase in death rate. On the other hand, when the same amount of the solution was sprayed at the bottom of plastic container and the flour was placed there in depth of 1mm, it gave effective control of both beetles (100%). The effect, however, decreased as increase of depth of the flour. Diflubenzuron treated at the bottom of the container provived effective control (more than 70% in both beetles) for over 120 days.
