三世代家族が多く,共働き率の高い岩手県では,子育てにおいて祖父母による支援が大きいと推察する。そこで,現在の岩手県において,祖父母の子育て支援の実態を明らかにするとともに,孫育てを担う祖父母への教育の一環として,祖父母学級の導入の検討を行った。1歳6ヵ月の子どもをもつ母親を対象に,独自に作成した自己記入式質問紙調査を実施した。その結果,約半数の母親が祖母と同居をしており,同じ市町村内に祖母がいる者が約半数と,身近に祖母の存在があった。仕事に復帰している母親のうち,約半数が祖母に子どもを預けながら就業をしており,子育てにおいて祖母がキーパーソンになっていることが明らかとなった。祖母との関係性において,母親の約1割は祖母との育児観の違いからストレスを感じていた。祖父母学級の導入について検討した結果,52%の母親が祖父母学級の開催を希望していた。祖父母学級の内容としては「祖父母の役割」についてのニーズが最も高く,祖父母に求める役割としては「みること」「聞くこと」「話すこと」の3つが抽出された。
It is speculated that child-care support for grandparents is important in Iwate Prefecture, where there are many three-generation households and the percentage of double-income families is high. Therefore, the introduction of grandparenting classes was examined to clarify the actual state of child-care support by grandparents in Iwate Prefecture and as a part of education services for grandparents who are involved in raising their grandchildren. A self-administered questionnaire was given to mothers who had children aged 18 months or less. The replies to the questionnaire indicated that the grandmother was close by in most cases. Approximately half of the mothers lived with the grandmother, and approximately half of the grandmothers lived in the same municipality. Among mothers who had returned to work, about half reported leaving their child with the grandmother, confirming that the grandmother was a key person involved in their child's care. Approximately 10% of the mothers felt stress in their relationship with the grandmother because of differences in opinion about childcare. Responses to the concept of introducing grandparenting classes showed that 52% of the mothers favored holding such classes. The need for grandparenting classes to address the duties of the grandparent showed the greatest desirability, and looking, listening, and speaking were the three duties considered by the mothers to be most desirable in the grandparents.
