火星の大気と表層環境の劇的な変遷に深く関与した可能性が高いと考えられる「宇宙空間への大気散逸」.そのプロセスの全貌に迫り,環境変遷に果たしてきた役割の理解を飛躍的に向上させる,MELOS複合探査による火星大気散逸観測,および,大気進化研究の科学要求を概観する.
