Abstract

B中間子からK中間子とπ中間子への二体崩壊では,粒子と反粒子の間で崩壊振幅そのものが異なってCP対称性が破れる現象-直接的CP対称性の破れ-が起きる.この現象は小林益川理論によって予言されているが,Bファクトリ-実験で得られた大量のデータによって測定精度が向上するとともに,中性B中間子の場合と荷電B中間子の場合でCP非対称度が異なることがはっきりしてきた.本稿では"Kπパズル"と研究者の間で呼ばれているこの謎について紹介する.

In the two-body decay of the B meson to the K meson and the π meson, direct CP violation arises from interference of two decay amplitudes. While this phenomena is a characteristic phenomena predicted by the Kobayashi-Maskawa model, as larger data sample have been collected at the B factory experiments, the difference of the CP asymmetry between the neutral and charged B mesons become more evident. The difference cannot be explained theoretically, known as "Kπ" puzzle. While no clear conclusion can be drawn, it may indicate a new physics beyond the standard model.
