Abstract
本稿では,システムサイクルの概念をもちいて,ディペンダブルプロセッサの性能オーバヘッドについて議論する.はじめに,性能オーバヘッドの期待値と標準偏差について一般的に解析し,近似式を導出する.つぎに,具体的なディペンダブルプロセッサのモデルを設定して,それに対する性能オーバヘッドの期待値と標準偏差の近似式を示す.さらに,数値例によって,性能オーバヘッドおよび相対性能比の解析的な近似式から得られる値とシミュレーションによって得られる値とを比較する.
In this report, using the idea of "system cycle," we discuss the performance overhead on dependable processors. First, the expected value and the standard deviation of the performance overhead are analytically considered and are represented as approximate expressions. The concrete model of a dependable processor is secondly configured to derive the expected value and the standard deviation in explicit form. Moreover, numerical examples in calculating the performance overhead and the relative performance show the comparison between the results form analytical approximate expressions and the ones from Monte Carlo simulations.
